Nythril is a paradox and a little hypocritical just like the illusions he's known for. He is a god of shadows that brings comfort, and a trickster that uses pranks or misdirection to expose the truth, stories of him often involve him being a god of illusions that teaches a person a spiritual message and brings them clarity after falling for his intricate story telling and disguise.

There's always a purpose to his tricks with life learning lessons always provided by them, it could be something as simple as humbling an over-confident noble on course to isolate themselves from others, to protect the innocent or redirect someone away from what they may think is something they need in life to something that would actually suit them much better.

Nythril represents understanding, guiding others (even if its not in the most immediately understandable way) and laughter. He can be imagined as playful and sly, even infuriating but his tricks are never cruel or without meaning. Nythril doesn't have a set place of worship, instead his followers wear bracelets devoted to him and it's a well known practice to throw a coin in a river and make a wish to be tricked by one of his illusions.
